Policies - Fun Stuff!

Pricing

With the world as it is, price changes are inevitable at some point, and we reserve the right to do so at any time. We’ll do our best to let you know before it happens, so in most cases you have the chance to squeeze in one last order at your previous price. *pats self on back*

Screen Fees

Fees are literally the worst. Any of em. Most screen printers have screen fees. We don’t.

Minimums

For most items and services, we have a minimum of 30. It’s really not that many, right? Especially when you’re ordering apparel and need a range of sizes. Sure, we can print fewer, but it could get pretty pricey. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Custom Artwork

This can be a complicated topic, so we gave it its own page. Read more here.

Art Preparation & Formats

Vector. Vector. Vector. Vector. Vector. Vector. Vector. Vector. Art needs to be in vector format (.eps, .ai, or sometimes .pdf) that we can open in Adobe Illustrator, which is a vector-based program. This doesn’t mean you can save a jpeg or png as a pdf, pretend it magically becomes a vector, and send it our way. We’ll know, because we’re experts. YOU CAN’T FOOL US. If you don’t have a vector version of your design, let us know, and we’ll take care of it for a minor fee. Probably.

Color Matching

Simply put: we don’t do exact color matching. We have about 40 house colors that are pretty consistent and we use a water-based ink system with formulas for matching a lot of Pantone (PMS) colors, but it’s really an inexact science. Not to mention the fact that the color of the shirt can affect the look of the ink on your shirt, and especially so since we’re using water-based inks. That being said, we’ll get as close as we can; for us that’s being within one hue of the selected PMS number. So, if the mockup we provide lists PMS 7555 C as an ink color, then 7554 C and 7556 C are deemed acceptable. If that’s not acceptable to you, please see the note below about Production Samples.

Image Placement

There will be some minor variation in the position of the prints on your product, because we’re loading shirts by hand and we’re humans, we make mistakes. But it should all be within a range of acceptability. Honestly, though, image placement can be tough. We have a combined, like, 8zillion years of printing experience, and we still eff up placements every once in a while. We’ll try to weed any of those out of your order, but if something seems off to you, let us know and we’ll replace or refund.

Press Checks & Production Samples

We don’t do these. We print with water-based inks, so the ink’ll dry out before we have time to take a picture, send the picture, wait for a response, receive a response, retake the picture in different lighting, send the new picture, it didn’t go through, re-connect to wifi, re-send the new picture, wait that’s the old picture, re-send the actual new picture, wait for a response, and get approval, because of course it’s approved...we’ve been doing this for, like, 8zillion years.

We can do production samples, but it’ll cost ya.

If you’re reallllly concerned, we’re happy to welcome you into our studio the day we’re printing your items, so you can be there when the first one rolls out. But we do expect you to be on time, or else.

Printing Errors

Hey guys, stuff happens. You make mistakes at your job, and we make mistakes at ours. We try to pull out any items with printing errors, and they’ll be removed from your invoice, because it’d be ridiculous for you to pay for them if they suck. In any case, please allow for up to 3% shortage. So if you need an exact quantity of shirts, we recommend padding your numbers a bit.

Manufacturer Flaws

As we mentioned, people make mistakes, and that includes the manufacturers of the items we print on. As with printing errors, any items that we find with a manufacturer flaw (unsewn seams, small holes, mis-labeled sizes, etc) will be removed from your invoice. We recommend giving your order a good once-over as soon as you get it, and letting us know if you find any defects. Because if 2 months goes by and you find something, we won’t be inclined to give you a refund, because who knows what the heck could’ve happened in the meantime to cause that.

On another note, please allow for some variance in color. It’s pretty rare, but it can happen, and we can’t be responsible for a manufacturer slightly altering their dye process or whatever the heck they do that causes their Heather Navy to look like--I don’t know--Slightly Different Heather Navy.

Production Time & Order Scheduling

Most orders are fulfilled within 10-15 business days from the day you pay. If you have a hard deadline—no matter when it is—tell us. If it’s a rush order, there’ll be an additional charge proportional to how much of a rush it is.

Rush Orders

We get it. Getting new stuff is exciiiiiting. Everybody wants their order yesterday. The thing is, not everybody needs their order yesterday. If you actually do, though, we can do our best to rush it, but it will incur an extra fee, because it usually means we have to push other orders back, and—to be frank—it has to be worth it for us to do that. So it’s sort of, like, an unfairness tax, or a you-should’ve-planned-better tax or something. Just sayin’.

Payment Terms

We request full payment before starting production on your order. Submitting payment is made super easy via our invoicing system, using a debit or credit card. If you’re super old school, you can mail us a physical check. We’ll use the bank app on our phone to deposit it, because we live in the 21st century. If you’d like to request different payment terms, like 50% down and 50% on fulfillment, let us know and we can probably figure something out.

Late Payments

We’ve been strapped for cash before, too. It! Freakin’! Sucks! If you’re not going to be able to pay on time, at least let us know, and maybe even let us know when you anticipate being able to pay. Late payments are subject to monthly 2% interest charges and a $20 fee. All of which we’ll probably waive, unless you’re a jerk about it.

Order Cancelation

If you cancel an order before we’ve printed, you will have to pay a restocking fee (because we will have to pay a restocking fee). If we’ve started printing an order, you can’t cancel it, because we have literally no use for your items once they’re printed. So if you do that, you’re still responsible for paying the balance on your invoice, and at that point you may as well just not cancel it.

Pickup or Delivery/Shipping

We like seeing [most of] our customers ;) so we sincerely wish it made sense for us to deliver every order at no extra charge, unfortunately that just wouldn’t be fiscally responsible of us. So if you need your order delivered, expect a delivery fee; otherwise, once you’ve paid the balance on your invoice, check with your account manager to arrange pickup. If we need to ship it outside of Kansas City, we’ll do it, then send you the bill.
